Soft Fruits

For the cultivation of strawberries, blueberries, and other soft fruits, we have developed stable substrates suitable for every propagation or potting round. Our growing media are produced using RHP-certified peat, perlite, wood fibre, and buffered coco coir. We have also tested high-performance peat-reduced and peat-free substrates, all meeting the highest standards. Thanks to a well-balanced composition, we achieve the optimal chemical and physical properties to create an airy, free-draining root environment — key factors in ensuring a successful harvest.

Fruit: Blueberries

For blueberry cultivation we have developed stable high-end soil improvers and container substrates. Our growing media are produced with high quality RHP peat, perlite and buffered cocos, creating the right chemical, buffering and pH circumstances, while proving an airy and draining root environment. In this way your blueberries will flourish!

Blueberries require an acidic, airy soil with good water management and more. Agaris has the expertise and the right tailored products. Discover more in this case study!

Fruit: Strawberries

Agaris has developed stable substrates for strawberry cultivation, suitable for all types of plugs or repotting.

Strawberry cultivation has evolved significantly in recent years. Long-cycle production is still widely practiced, but short-cycle crops and everbearing systems are becoming increasingly important. Agaris knows the market and recognizes these trends, allowing us to provide substrates for every type of strawberry cultivation.

The duration of the crop and the cultivation period are important factors when choosing a substrate. Long-cycle crops require a more stable substrate than short cycles and winter repotting requires a specialized mix that can withstand cold and wet conditions. In summer, plants need to receive plenty of water, so the substrate must also be adapted accordingly.

Grow Bag for Strawberries

What is it?

The Agaris Grow Bag offers a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to conventional inert substrates, specifically designed for strawberry cultivation. Made from 100% natural organic materials, the Grow Bag provides an optimal environment for healthy root growth and vigorous plant development.

Different sizes

Grow Bags are available in lengths ranging from 40 cm to 120 cm. Bags can be customized with different numbers of planting holes and varying distances between holes, tailored to your crop and cultivation system.

Sustainable advantage

Environmental assessments show that Agaris Grow Bags have a lower impact than conventional substrates. After use, the organic substrate can be composted into high-quality soil improvers, fully closing the production cycle and contributing to sustainable strawberry cultivation.

Our technical experts are happy to visit you to get to know you, your company and your cultivation methods. Afterward, we are happy to discuss the different possibilities. In doing so, it is important to take the following factors into account:

  • Water quality
  • Pots: the height of the pot can greatly affect the air content in the substrate
  • Duration and method of cultivation
  • Climate and season
  • Repotting practices of the grower
